Create automated messages
An automation, flow, or automation flow consists of sending one or more automatic messages when an event occurs.
This event is called ''Activation event'', also known as "trigger", because it is the event that must take place to initiate the automation.
For the trigger to work, you must have connected your technology to Instasent, that is, the app needs to receive this information. Both API or any of our predefined connectors (like your Shopify online store) are valid for this purpose.
In the Automations section, you can design a custom automation, or create a new one from a predefined template:
There are predefined templates available in both Spanish and English, allowing you to select the one that best fits your objective based on the automation category or the data source from which the event will be received.
Predefined templates save you time as they come preconfigured with the event that needs to occur to trigger the automated message, and even provide an example message body (though you can edit any element you wish).
If you prefer to create the automation from scratch, you'll need to configure:
Audience: who will receive this message.
Activation event (trigger): of the automation: what needs to happen for the message to be sent?
Cancellation event: what is the expected action? In other words, the event that, if it occurs, will prevent the message from being sent.
Message: Configure the time delay between the event occurring and the message being sent, the sender, and the message text.
Message 2, 3,... (optional)
Delivery settings: Set the message limit, meaning each time the trigger event occurs, how much time should have passed since the previous message was sent before sending a new one?
Additionally, you can indicate whether this message should or should not be sent to unsubscribed contacts.
Finally, enable the "Active" button and save the automation for it to take effect.
My automation is active but no messages are being sent: What should I check?
Audience: If the audience is selected incorrectly, it could happen that no customer meets the conditions to enter that segment.
Activation event: Make sure you have indicated the correct data source for the selected event (for example, Shopify sends the Cart abandoned event but not the Product viewed event).
Delivery settings: Check the message limit and the opt-in status to receive messages.
