How to set up a new Proyect and the first Data source

It is necessary to create a project to start using Instasent. Your project will be your workspace, where you will connect your data sources and have your audience ready to receive your communications.

1. Create a new project

First, you must have an active Instasent account. Once you are registered, simply log in to your account and click on the blue "New project" button.

Then, we will need to know what kind of business/company you work at.

2. Import your contacts

At this point, the App will ask you to import all or some of your contacts from these data sources:

2.1 CSV

You can import contacts by uploading a comma separated value file from your favorite software. Drag and drop your file or click to browse it.

Import contacts by pasting any comma separated values text.

For the first two options, you will need to provide the file or data, and configure some relevant information in order to define how your data source should be processed and which country will you use as default in case it is missing. This includes:

Once the contacts have been imported, you must map the data. By default, as many fields as possible will be recognized and selected, such as email, phone, country, etc. You will be able to change the name of the attributes, add new fields, or eliminate those that are not needed.​

If you imported a .CSV, you will need to set a Key field.

Then, the App will ask you how you want to merge contacts. This means that you can eliminate duplicated contacts and group them based on repeated email or repeated phone number. You also have the option to not merge contacts and import contacts with multiple emails or phone numbers.

Finally, you can add tags/labels to the imported contacts. This will help to identify them easily or catalog them in some way, facilitating future segmentations. ​

Once the importation is completed, the App will confirm the number of new contacts, updated, processed and errors. Additionally, it will be possible to send the first campaign.
