Connect Google with Instasent
Video tutorial
Connecting your Google account with Instasent is as simple as adding Intercom as a data source and following these steps:
To connect Google Contacts with Instasent, you will have to follow these steps:
1. Create a project and connect Google Contacts
You will be able to connect Google Contacts, when creating a project, or if you already have a project, you can go to Audience - Data sources and choose the corresponding connector:
You will see a preview of the information you can import from Google Contacts, where you have to click on "Install Google Contacts"
2. Connect
You will have to log in into your Google account. Only read permits will be used.
3. Map
Your contacts contain various pieces of information (name, ID, address, etc.). These fields or values are referred to as "Attributes." Keep in mind that, in addition to your Google contacts, you will be able to connect many other technologies, import data from .CSV files, and more.
For this reason, each field must have a specific name assigned to it, avoiding duplicate attributes (for example, the attribute 'Nombre' may be called 'Name' in Google and 'First Name' in a .CSV file, but in Instasent, it should be a single field for greater data accuracy).
By mapping, you ensure that each piece of data is placed in its correct project attribute. While we attempt to automatically match project attributes, variations in names or data structures can cause inconsistencies. That’s why it’s essential to review the suggested mapping and adjust it if necessary.
4. Unify
*If this is your first datasource, you won't see this step yet.
Remember that you can connect many data sources (multiple .CSV files, spreadsheets, different technologies like Make, Shopify, Klaviyo, etc.). Instasent consolidates and organizes all this audience from various sources.
On what value will you base the unification of possible duplicate data across your different data sources? If you choose, for example, the email, all contacts with the same email will be merged, and their information will be grouped.
5. Tags
This step consists in tagging these contacts. Keep in mind that we import the tags coming from Google, so this will be an additional tag.
When you finish this process, all your contacts will be available in the section Audience - Contacts, where you'll be able to apply filters and create segments. Also you can launch your first campaign.
