The sender of an SMS, also known as the sender ID or "Sender ID", can contain a set of up to 11 alphanumeric characters that identify who sends the message.

In order to send campaigns, automations, and/or direct messages to a user from Instasent, it is necessary to have at least 1 sender configured for your project.

Adding Senders

From the side menu of your project, go to: More > Project Settings.

In this section, you can add, view, and configure all added senders, including archiving senders that you are not using.

When adding your sender, it is common for it to be the name of your company, respecting the maximum of 11 characters between letters and numbers. For better compatibility, we recommend using GSM7 characters (A-Z, a-z, 0-9).

Countries

Available Countries

To check the countries where the service is available, simply select any of the senders in the list.

If you wish to send messages to a country that is not in our list of available countries, a specific request is necessary. To do this, click on the "Request country" button.

When you click the 'Request country' button, we will ask you to provide us with a brief description of your use case. Our team will process your request and take the necessary steps to enable message sending to the country you have indicated.

Country Requests

In some countries, SMS senders must register their sending Sender ID with local operators to ensure correct message delivery. This step responds to regulatory controls and prevents possible blockages.

Important: Due to the different regulations of the operators in each country, we encounter 3 situations:

  • Countries where your messages will arrive with the same sender you configure. For example: YOUR BRAND

  • Countries in which the sender will be automatically replaced by a number (long or short). Example: 27500

  • The last group consists of those countries in which it is mandatory to pre-register the sender with local operators (e.g., USA, UK). If not, messages may be blocked.

Sender Selection

When preparing your SMS message, you must select a sender. If you don't have one available, you can add one directly by clicking "add sender" or as we indicated in the previous step, from "Project Settings".

It is most common for this to be the name of your company, respecting the maximum of 11 characters between letters and numbers, for better compatibility, use GSM7 characters (A-Z, a-z, 0-9).

Depending on the selected plan, you may have more or fewer senders configured in your project. When sending a campaign, automation, and/or direct message, you can select the sender you want to use
