Creating a custom shortened URL for your brand not only enhances your marketing efforts but also strengthens your brand identity. Here’s how to set up your own custom short URL domain in a few easy steps.

1. Purchase a Domain

Start by acquiring a domain name from a domain registrar of your choice, such as GoDaddy, Namecheap, Dondominio or Google Domains.

2. Notify Us

Once you have your domain, inform us of the chosen domain name. We need this information to configure it within our system and ensure it redirects correctly from https://short-url.com to https://your-domain.com.

3. Configuration and Nameserver Details

After we configure your domain on our end, we'll provide you with nameserver details. You will receive at least two nameservers which you'll need to set up with your domain to link it effectively to our platform.

4. Update Your Domain’s Nameservers

Log into the account at your domain registrar. Navigate to the management section of your domain, often found under options like “Domain Settings,” “DNS Management,” or “Advanced Settings.” Here’s what to do next depending on your registrar:

  • GoDaddy: Go to "My Products" > Select your domain > "DNS" > "Change Nameservers."

  • Namecheap: Go to "Dashboard" > Select your domain > "Domain Settings" > "Custom DNS" > Enter the nameservers we provided.

  • Google Domains: Go to "My Domains" > Select your domain > "DNS" > Scroll to “Custom Nameservers.”

  • Bluehost: Go to "Domains" > Select your domain > "Manage" > "Nameservers" > "Use Custom Nameservers."

Replace any existing nameservers with the ones we provided to ensure proper configuration.

5. DNS Propagation

After you update the nameservers, allow up to 24 hours for DNS changes to propagate fully. During this period, your domain might not function immediately—this is normal, so please be patient.

6. Confirmation

Once DNS propagation is complete, your custom short URL domain will be active. You can test its functionality by accessing it through a browser. If you encounter any issues or have questions, feel free to reach out to us for assistance.

By following these steps, you can leverage a custom short URL that aligns with your brand and improves your marketing visibility and trustworthiness.
